Ever shake your head and wonder how dispensationalists can ignore what scripture plainly says? or how they can ignore their failed prophecies and expevtations time and time and time again? I certainly have. and while I understood what motivates this to a degree, I think I finally realized the very root of the problem. after watching the latest attempt by Dipsy's to force fit Islam into biblical prophecies I finally realized why they do this. it is because their eschatology is self centered. Biblical truth, interpretation and prophecy is always about Jesus, about his victory, His glory, and His kingdom.
Dispensationalist not only are attracted to doctrine that appeals to their itching ears, but the main attraction is dispensationalisim lends itself to the "It's about me" mentality. that is how they can ignore all thier failed predictions about how the LAST crises fit biblical prophecy and go on about their merry way force fitting and twisting scriptures to make the latest crises fit prophecy. becasue for them it is ALWAYS about what they perceive to be a threat to them. so their eschatology rather than glorifying Christ is in effect their security blanket. if each and every new threat is THE fulfillment of prophecy then they feel reassured that nothing bad will happen to them. after all they have a get out of trouble free card in the pre trib rapture.
understanding this makes it clear why they will deny what sripture clearly says in favor fo what they want to believe. and it explains why they become so hateful and question the salvation of anyone who disagree's with their doctrines. an attack on their cheerished doctrines is a threat to their security blanket. if the latest threat to them is NOT the fulfilllment of biblical prophecy then it would be a threat tehy might actually have to face. and that is more than they can bear.
It also explains thier infatuation and adamant stance that only natural jews are Israel. all those Natural jews are far away and they are the ones that will face these terrible things not the dipsy.
